Make Sustainable Impact – Being efficient is not enough

Efficient is not enough

It is not enough for business leaders to be efficient whilst making changes.

If the change does not make the impact as desired, then effectively we are wasting our time.

I attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Essential Update today.
George Savvides, Chairman of the charity World Vision Australia, was the guest speaker.

One thing stuck with me.

“Impact trumps Efficiency; but Sustainability trumps Impact” said George.

I translated this into my business-world thinking.

George Savvides. Chairman of World Vision Australia.

It is not enough for business leaders to be efficient whilst making a change somewhere.
If the change does not make the impact as desired, then effectively we are wasting our time.

The change needs to have a lasting impact.
Then it becomes sustainable and impactful.

And then we have lasting change with ongoing benefits.
