The 2015 Best Project Award was won by Meghan Brewer and Lachlan Rainer from Malteurop.  This is the 2015 Award from the Geelong Manufacturing Council’s Leadership for Manufacturing Excellence Program.

Their project which will save over ½ million litres of water per year.  It will also save thousands of dollars in electricity usage; and make the maintenance team very happy by virtually eliminating maintenance work on the humidification equipment in an important part of the malting process.

The project has world-wide appeal and the company is reported to be considering implementing it at other Malteurop sites around the world.

“Some of the powerful opportunities I was given access to through this program were, working alongside my colleague, pitching ideas and getting them accepted by senior management and shop-floor staff alike, and then developing the knowledge and confidence to bring the project idea to reality.” said Meghan.
